I was trying to improve my computer speed and was advised to use Autoruns for windows v8.54 which allows you to modify your startup menu. I found it too confusing and did not use. Now I am trying to use my selective startup in MSCONFIG and everytime I try to change the startup programs, I am getting an error message that states: An access error was returned while attempting to change a service. You may need to log on using an Administrator account to make the change.

I am the only administrator on the computer. Not sure how to fix this problem.

Did you uninstall Autoruns for windows v8.54 ?

Are you trying to make these changes via the startup tab or service tab?
Use the Service tab only for informational purposes
