About a month back I encountered a virus (I believe) that gave my laptop the blue screen of death, so I ran the system restore. Afterwards I transferred my old desktop and other programs back to regular from the archived folders. Next I installed the online mmorpg final fantasy XI and everything seemed to be regular for a day. I ran a windows updater the next day that created a login option at start-up and when I logged in through it, it took me back to the blue screen and the computer immediately shut down. I ran the system restore again and turned off windows updater to avoid this problem. After restoring my files form the archives of the previous restore I tried to open my DC++ program the blue screen returned, but the computer just restarted saying it recovered from a serious error. Because of this I went, through and deleted all old programs and just installed them over again (ie. itunes, DC++, torrents, etc.) and I haven't been faced with the blue screen again.
What I am actually having a problem is I deleted the PlayOnline (final fantasy XI) folder and when I tried to reinstall from the cds, I get the error: "Error 1303.The installer has insufficient privileges to access this directory: C:\Program Files\PlayOnline. Thie installation cannot continue. Log on as an administartor or contact your system administrator." Since I am not very computer smart I searched online for various tutorials from microsoft websites and other various forums(taking ownership of folders, changing securities, running in safe mode and changing administrative accesses, etc.), but none of these remedy the problem. I tried to create a PlayOnline folder in program files and got the error "Error 1317.An error occurred while attempting to create the directory C:\Program Files\PlayOnline."
Also another problem is in my Document and Setting Folders I have 3 different User Account folder, but in User Accounts under the control panel it only shows one active user.
I ran out of ideas to remedy this problem so any assistance would be appreciated.
