I recently took the opportunity to upgrade my ageing ATi 9800Pro to an HD3850 AGP card. When I'd closed the box back up, eager to test it out, I discovered that my computer wouldn't boot. Previously my setup worked fine, which was:

MSI K8T Neo-FIS2R
2x Seagate 160Gb SATA Drives in RAID 0 using the onboard VIA controller
2 larger backup SATA drives, both on a SUNIX 2100 controller card, PCI slot 4

Now when I boot with a drive plugged into the PCI card, the onboard controller doesn't load. :upset: If the PCI card has no drives plugged in, then it halts it's bios and allows the onboard VIA controller to boot... and all is well (albeit with no backup drives). :sigh:

I have no idea how a change of AGP card could have brought this about. I tried altering the boot order, but the VIA RAID array is not selectable after the PCI card boots. If anyone can suggest how to remedy this, or even what terms to search for in google (that's how little I understand this problem) I'd be appreciative.
