Hi guys,

I have 2 Epson R300s and at yesterday both showed the following error on the printers lcd screen:

"paper is not set correctly. Set the paper correctly, then press the maintenance button"

It shows this after trying to load the paper, it pushes it forward a couple of times but won't grip it and take it through.

The problem started when i was trying to print on fairly thick paper but ever since I have not been able to print on normal paper either. I have tried loading varying amounts of paper into the tray, restarting the printer, checking the wheels.

Any ideas?

Thanks, Leigh

This printer has a limit to thickness of paper you can load. If you loaded something too thick it may have scretched out the rollers. Limits are:

Single sheets
plain bond paper 0.003 to 0.004 inch
(0.08 to 0.11 mm) 17 to 24 lb
(64 to 90 g/m²)
Envelopes 0.006 to 0.02 inch
(0.16 to 0.52 mm) 12 to 20 lb
(45 to 75 g/m²)

You can also try loading just one page and see if it will feed that. You may be overloading the tray.

Have tried loading one piece but it does the same thing, I'm thinking it's going to need a printer pro to open them up then unless there's any other suggestions?

Thanks, Leigh
