Hi. i have an Emerson TV and after a minute or so, the screen goes completely green, but i could still hear sound. is there any way to fix this. please let me know. thank you.

Short answer is, yes it can be fixed. Sounds like something in the colour drive circuitry of a CRT, or possibly something in the power supply.
If this is a CRT type television, be warned, high residual voltages remain inside it even when unplugged from the power source. If you have no experience with CRT's, best to take it to a tech.

edit: Do you get this symptom when using all video sources ( internal dvd, cable, antenna)?

I suspect the repair cost would exced the price of a replacement.

Is there any way i could repair it myself?
There are a couple things you will need first. A set of schematics for the unit and enough electronics knowhow so that you can understand the schematics. And you don't have tools yet.
