Hope this is in the right forum:

When I am on a website which has an embedded WMP video clip, I don't get any sound. Video plays fine, but no audio.

This is in Firefox 2.0 browser as well as IE6 browser.

All other types embedded video clips work fine.

I am on Windows XP Pro.

karanislove,

Thanks for response.

It worked. Problem solved.

I downloaded the K-Lite Codec Basic.
During the install, K-Lite showed that a number of DirectShow filter registry entries were 'broken' and prompted to remove or leave. I removed them.

What could have caused the registry entries to 'break'?

AHA! That makes sense.

So, possibly TuneUp Utilities 2007's Registry cleaner, which I ran over the weekend could have broken the filter entries?

Could this happen again? Any way to avoid this happening?

Thank you for your help.
