When I retrive hotmail via outlook express I get the following message: Configuration:
Account: Hotmail
Server: http://services.msn.com/svcs/hotmail/httpmail.asp
User name: [email protected]
Protocol: HTTPMail
Port: 0
Secure(SSL): 0
Code: 80004005

Is there anyway that I can fix this. It is very confusing for my wife when she checks her email.

paid hotmail account

This is a paid hotmail account, we can download through outlook express, that's why I don't understand the error message :4-dontkno

bojovan - I had this error too. There may be other solutions depending on the cause, but in my case it was due to changing from a dial-up ISP to DSL.

If this is the cause of your problem try this: in OE go to Tools/Accounts - select 'Mail' tab - select your mail account - choose 'Properties' - select 'Connection' tab and check the box 'Always connect to this account using' - (in my case) "Local Area Network".

Stopped the error on my system.

Whoops!

Sorry -- I guess I spoke too soon... The solution I suggested didn't solve this error problem. It only appeared to, but the error returned. I guess the solution is still out there somewhere. Sorry, my mistake.
