this computer shuts down on its own, only boots up correctly about every 3rd time. the donut will freese and there is no way to control alt delete when this happens. would appreciate any idea what the problem is .
and a direction on how to remedy these problems.

from my experience the minute you say e-machine ........ I think "power -supply unit"

hope your motherboard isnt toast too !

HI. I just replaced the power supply in my e machine t5230 and have since had the problem with it shutting down on its own. It runs about 10-15 minutes and then shuts it's self off. I don,t see this as a power supply issue. Is there any thing else that will cause the problem?

overheating cpu will cause that issue also; wait till the machine is stone cold, then

start the machine / immediately enter the bios / go to the bios section which shows the system temps and system voltages

watch them for about 15-20 minutes recording what they are when you start watching and what they are when the system shutsdowns
