Im trying to replace Some system 32 files such as shell32 and Explorerframe.dll with some theme ones to customize my PC but when i do it says i need permission, so i try to edit my permission to give me access but i get this:

Hi-

Are you an Administrator of the PC?

If not, that is most likely your problem....

Yes i am, it shows in the picture Administrators(Malachi(me)\administrators)

Hi-

Ah. i missed that! and i was looking there!

you could try, if you really want to, to boot into a live CD (like ubuntu) and move the file. but other than that, i have no idea why its not working.

One more thing to try: Run The explorer window as an administrator

Ive tried running windows explorer as admin but i still get the same message, would using the hidden administrator account maybe work?

Didnt work, Ive tried that, changing permissions, taking ownership via command prompt and making me owner.. alll comes up with i need permission

Sorry for double post not sure how to delete my first one

Hi have you tried right clicking on the folder or file then choose properties then the security tab and see what it has listed for you there

Ive tried that, I got explorerframe to let me overwrite it but shell32 and wmploc wouldnt let me do that and neither would explorer.exe

The "access denied" message for shell32.dll and explorer.exe are probably due to the fact that they are "files in use".

These are Microsoft Windows 7 OS modules. Only Windows Updates and hotfixes can legally patch OS modules.

We cannot further assist with this matter.
