Easy Cd Creator 5 and 6 Help!

1207 Views 3 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  donaldsell
I burned quite a few data discs with my software Easy Cd Creator 5 and 6 a while back. Anyways it compresses the files into UDF files and now that I do not have Easy Cd Creator 5 or 6 installed (mainly because there so old) I cannot read anything on my old discs. Please Help!

Later versions of Easy Media Creator should be able to read discs created with older versions UNLESS you created them by using the "drag & drop" method which allows you to drag files directly on to the CD icon (a process known as packet-writing).

That method is now no longer used as it proved to be very unreliable. If that's how those discs were created you're screwed I'm afraid. No new software supports it.

You're only chance is getting hold of an older version of Windows and installing the old copy of Easy CD Creator on it.
After some research I think you need to install the Roxio UDF Reader for those discs to be readable. Get it here (it's free): Roxio Software Updates
thank you...ill get back to you and let you know how it goes:

Im going to get an old computer and put win xp on it and see if i get anything working with the old easy cd creator 5 and 6 with the drag and drop discs.
