DVI Adapter Confussion?

Hi... I am confused.. I have Viewsonic 19" LCD display.. behind display there is VGA and DVI connections available. About graphix card nvidia 9800 gt. Here is my question if I connect both DVIs with vga cable with the DVI adapters than what'll the signals?? Analog or Digital? Somebody tell me the display take signals of analog bcuz the vga cable connect both of them. You need to buy the cable directly connect with DVI connections. Please clear my mind. thankful to you
