a couple of months ago i created a dvd with mp4 files on 4.7gb disk and i was able to wacth them files when i put them on to the computer but a few days ago i cannot read them disk but i can read the same disks on other ocmputers and laptops i have got its just that computer. so what shall i do please help

by the way my computer is an acer aspire l320 please help i really need to get his sorted out


i updated it i unisatlled the dvd drive and re-installed the drive but that did not work the drive does read other cd/dvd drived but its just that when i put these dvd on to the drive it comes up either saying prepare this balnk disk and sometimes it says please insert a disk in to the drive please help



its just the homemade dvd's which i made won't work on their but all the rest of the cd's work on their please help i really need this please!

Hello! Does the drive show up in Device manager?

Could be your drive is faulty worn out..... Try another drive DVD-ROM. You say only cd's work? Cd's and dvd's are not the same. I had a drive which worn out it would only read cd's and not dvd's any more.

other dvd's work on thier and yes it does show up in task manager and it does read all other diskc properly but it just the ones which i have made and the ones which i have made work on other computers but when i put it in the disk drive it sometimes says prepare this disk or sometimes it say please insert a disk into the drive and at the moment i am running that fix it tool i will reply again to see if it works in a few minites thank you for the help by the way

i have other disks and they are dvd's they work perfectly fine

check for a firmware update for the drive

i check for an update on the drive and it says it up to date

try cleaning the laser

try copying a disk that works on another computer that the disk works on

then see if the copy works on the problem computer

i just tried a different disk which i had copied earlier it was a mathswatch dvd it worked but then i took it out of the drive and put it back in but then it came up as a blank disk so would that be any problem i am just trying out the thing you told me earlier to copy the disk and to see if it work on the problem computer i am copying the disk on a diffrent computer so i am just doing that

and by the way acer aspire l320 is quite a diffrent tower for the computer becuase it is quite small so how do i clean the laser for that here is a picture of my computer:

that is something i have never seen before

every single user posting a review of it cans it as junk

either a cd cleaning disk or take the drive out take the top off and clean the lasers manually

Replace the drive it has to be dying.
