I recently upgraded my mobo to a K7 Triton w/ AMD 3200+ CPU. Everything works fine except for the fact that whenever I play a DVD, the sound is distorted. It sounds like I'm listening through a speakerphone with distortion. No lag or video stuttering, just bad sound.

I've tried 3 different DVDs, two different sound cards (Live 5.1 and AC97), two different DVD players (NVDVD and Cliprex DS) and nothing seems to make a difference.

I can play music CDs with or without digital playback without a problem, and it reads data without problems as well.

DirectX, Windows and the AC97 codecs are all up to date.

One other thing, I've got two sticks of 512MB, one DDR400 and the other DDR333. Could that make a difference?

Any ideas are appreciated
