I have two Pioneer DVD drives (one is a DVD writer) attached to the Secondary IDE socket on the same ribbon cable. They are configured as master and slave respectively.

This configuration worked fine until recently. Now, music CDs will not play. iTunes, which is my default player, launches when I insert a music CD but does not show the contents of the CD. When I try to play the CD using Windows Media Player by using File\Open, I get an error message.

I have uninstalled all suspects, i.e. iTunes v 7, Nero 6, IE 7 but no luck. Any ideas?

OS is Windows XP SP2 Home Edition.

C00D1197: Cannot play the file. Windows Media Player cannot play the file. If the file is on another computer, verify that you are connected to the network. If you typed a path, verify that it is correct. If the problem persists, the server might not be available.
