I recently got a HP slimline with a DVD-RW Rom w/Lightscribe worked great now the video and sound playback is choppy not only on DVD playback but on CD playback aswell it seems to work fine for loading and recording files though

I have a HP Pavilion Slimline s7520n
AMD Turion 64 Mobile Tech ML-34
787 MHz, 960 MB of RAM
running
Win XP Media Center Edition 2002 SP2

There is a lot of proccess running in the background somthing like 70 can bring it down to 54 or so closing everything in the tray and the auto-updaters and it is choppy no matter what I use to play the disk

It doesn't look too bad based upon the system specs you listed. However, I would suggest you get rid of limewire. That is just asking for viruses and spyware. I would also run spyware and anti-virus scans. Links are in my signature. If that does not solve the problem then I would run msconfig and disable everything other than firewall and anti-virus programs and try again. Also what program are you running to play DVD's and CD's?

have ran all the spy ware adware and virus programs I have (norton, spybot, and ad aware se)

I have this problem no matter what I use to watch it (media center, real player, or windows media player)

ok ran it: it said that I should adjust ie browser cache check internet speed clean up drive c upgrade the size of my partition and remove limewire but none of that seems like it should have any effect on the Disk playback
