You can make an attempt to clean the filters which may help (LOW PROBABILITY).

Kindly ignore the title and specifics - sometimes Microsoft are indeed idiots or just too lazy/cheap to post another 'fix' thread. Just try the fix.
If that doesn't fix the issue, be advised that 2 years on a laser are pretty good, given the cost and sources, so your DVD laser may just have crapped out!
People talk about buying laser cleaners. I think they are sold by laser makers. (sarcasm)
