So recently i was burining stuff using Nero 8, and well the first CD Burnt succesfully, but i went to through the 2nd CD in and it doesn't even recognise it, i then through Guitar Hero III in, but it didn't even recognise that either, the tray opens... the CD Doesn't look to be even spinning but the light below the tray turns on, for about 5 seconds then turns off. I tried (System Restore, Removing Nero 8, Deleting the lower filters, What i believe is uninstalling the Drive and reinstalling) anyway wasn't that big of a hassle until yesterday i got WotLK and i couldn't install because the DVD drive wouldn't acknowledge a CD in there.

Hi Hows it hangin'? Ok first off have you or anybody else been fooling around with your floppy? Cause it sounds like to me that your data cable (the flat cable) has been put on backwards. That will make the busy light stay on. Now as far as your burner goes first check the data cable. The cable can just go bad for no reason, if it isn't the cable I'll bet the drive took a crap on ya. I've been repairing computers for around 9 years so that's what i think. You have a good one and if this helps you out please let me know as i could be wrong (i doubt it but) and i might learn something from this you never know PEACE iSa bAdDaS:wave:

I was having problems that sound like you are having. The DVD drive would not read anything once Windows started (the drive would read a boot disc fine during startup). To fix my problem, I had to go to Start - Run, type in msconfig and select the services tab. Under there, there was a service running called 'AdminWorks Agent X6'. Simply unclick the service so it is stopped and exit the window. Restart your computer and it should work fine. If the service isn't listed, then this won't fix your problem. Good Luck!
