Dell Inspiron 5558 Win 8.1 16 GB Ram, 1 TB HDD. Win 10 Version N/A

I have downloaded Win 10 and burned to a dvd so that I can upgrade at a later time. The MS app correctly downloaded to my download folder and also I was able burn a copy on a dvd. However, I now also have a new DVD drive named " DVD Drive (E) ESD- ISO " containing all the Win 10 files. What is this drive and what is purpose ?

When you download an ISO image, and right click it and choose Mount, it creates a Virtual DVD with the same contents as a Real DVD. If you are Upgrading your version of Windows 10 as opposed to doing a Clean Install, you do not need to use the Real DVD, you can just browse the Virtual DVD and double click Setup.exe to install the Upgrade. When done, right click the Virtual DVD in File Explorer and choose Eject.
