Re: http://www.techsupportforum.com/f59/solved-dungeon-keeper-2-video-problem-50528.html

I recently installed dungeon keeper II V1.7 and I guess I'm having the same problem.

To be clear: I set the compatibility to windows 98.
When I start the game the introimage is visible, the intromovie as wel. But when I get into the menu there's no background. When I want to start a new campaign I only see a cross in the right corner below. A skirmish game I can open, but when it starts I can't see the dungeon itself, only the options around it, and even those aren't perfectly visible.

I tried to solve the problem by the commandlist in the readme-file but that won't work.
Rorz solution doesn't work for me either. There's only one core ticked off.
I wanted to try the solution of Wintermute AI, but I can't find the menu on vista.

win vista home premium
T6400 3Ghz
4 gb ram

Can anyone help me out please?

Thanks! Klara.

Hello Klara and welcome to TSF
could you please post your Graphic Card?
to access the menu you mentioned on Vista
Right click on your desktop -> personalize -> Display Settings -> advanced settings -> Troubleshoot
click on change settings (if your current driver can allow it)
move the slider all the way to the left, so there is no hardware acceleration (none)
remember to bring the setting back to where it is to be able to play newer games

Open the Compatibility Administrator
on the left panel choose Applications
wait a bit till it opens (it'll take some time)
scroll down till you find Dungeon Keeper 2
when you find it click on it, and then look up at the panel and choose RUN
on the program, click on it and if there are no path, choose the game path by clicking browse eg: c:\program files\Dungeon Keeper 2\DKII.exe, or D:\games\Dungeon Keeper 2\DKII.exe
etc....
then choose OK
and see what happens, if the game did not launch, try it and launch it from the shortcut and see if that helps

Tried that. The game launched allright but I'm still having videoproblems, my dungeon heart still isn't visible, and the other stuff I told you about. Am I suppose to use a command line with that?

I took a few snapshots to show you how it looks like.

1) At the first picture you see the menu without a background
2) this is what I see when I open a skirmish game.
3) when I go back to windows and then reopen the game the options around the game do appear, but my dungeon heart still is not visible.
Btw, every time I used print screen to take a snapshot the game crashed.

Which genious is gonna help me out?

Thanks on advance
