i've noticed when using speedfan that one of my core is running well over what it should and under load its extremely high.

amd am2 +6000

core 1 @ 30c
core 2 @ 54c(idle)
core 2 @ 70+(load)

i'm using high quality paste and heatsink/fan combo.
i'm not new to building computers but this just hits me as wrong.

any thoughts or ideas?

Does Task manager show both cores or only one?

Task Manager shows two core under CPU Usage History.

dxdiag shows two cpu as well.

What program are you using to get the temps?
If not from the Bios what does the Bios show on a reboot for temps?

speedfan is showing the temps. bios doesn't seem to show temps anywhere or i'm missing something.

can you mention a few apps to see if speedfan is accurate or not?

Is this an OEM like Dell or Gateway if so what brand and model?
If not what motherboard do you have?
