I've got XP Pro 32 bit, and XP Pro 64 bit on two seperate physical hard drives.

How would i set up the computer to give me the option of what system to boot to, if possible?

I'm totally new to dual booting, and all i could find about booting dual hdd's was with windows and linux, or older versions of windows.

Thank you :)

I'm still a little confused...

i'd just edit my boot file and add

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Windows XP Professional X64" /fastdetect

under operating systems??

What numbers would i put in after multi and disc and all that? It's on a second drive, partition 1...

Clueless,
Tim

multi = usually always zero
disk= zero

rdisk= the device drive
ie: pimary ide 1 = 0
secondary ide 1 = 1
primary ide 2 = 2
secondary ide2 = 3

partition = both operating systems were on the same drive and you had that partitioned then , whatever partition it is on the drive, 1,2,3 etc.

============================================
assuming your xp pro was on primary ide 1
and the second drive was on primary ide 2

then yours would look like

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Windows XP Pro" /fastdetect
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(2)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Windows XP Professional X64" /fastdetect

============================================
or if the xp pro was on primary ide 1
and 64bit is on secondary ide 1
it would look like this

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Windows XP Pro" /fastdetect
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(1)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Windows XP Professional X64" /fastdetect

============================================
if they were both on the same drive but on partitions 1 and 2 then it would look like this

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Windows XP Pro" /fastdetect
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Windows XP Professional X64" /fastdetect
