Hi there everyone,
I have recently brought myself a new ATI Radeon HD5570 Sapphire gfx card and wished to install it in my computer, but to no avail. After sending it to a computer service store i was told it wasn't compatible with my motherboard and that I would need to update my motherboard for it to work.
However I'm not sure exactly how I would go about this;
would i need to update the BIOS?
is there an update for a particular driver I'd need (e.g. just a gpu driver update)?
Please someone help

Some information that may be of use:
Packard Bell iMedia 1459
Motherboard 05/19/2006-RC410-SB450-6A665G0DC-00
Motherboard DMIMOBO: NEC COMPUTERS INTERNATIONAL GA-8TRC410M-NF
Motherboard DMISYS: Packard Bell BV 00000000000000000000000
Motherboard GA-8TRC410M 20J NF

I can't find the system specs, and their website is a joke. The biggest issue with upgrading OEM PC's such as yours, is that the OEM power supplies are way too small. I would start by replacing the power supply. Then test the video card again.

What error are you seeing when installing the card now?

I have replaced the power supply with a Antec Neo HE550 (550watt).
I have also tested the card in two other computers and it works perfectly fine in both instances, which makes me believe it is the motherboard being outdated.

Unfortunately I got no kind of error, only when I place it in and power up my computer;
All components power up (fans, hard-disk drives, even the actualy gfx card fan, etc...),
No boot sequence is displayed on screen,
A series of repeating beeps come from my computer.

Someone who's much better with computers said they tried resetting the CMOS, and the card would then allow the computer to boot to windows but would then crash

Are you replacing an existing video card or does that motherboard have an onboard video chipset? If it has onboard video, you may need to disable the onboard chipset first, either via the BIOS or I've seen some older boards with an actual jumper. There should also be an option to change the video boot order, in which case you will want it to look at the PCI-E first.
