Hey, don't even know if this is the right place to put this, but I have a Compaq Presario SR1803WM with a 3.2ghz Celeron processor. and I was wondering if there is either af website or a program that will check my drivers and make sure they are up to date for free. I have tried several programs and they find that some of my drivers are out of date, but to update them, I have to pay for the program and register it.

well, ran a program called ccleaner (crap cleaner ha ha ha ) , then ran Driver Detective, and it only detected 2 out of date drivers. One for ATI Radeon Express 200 series, and one for Realtek RTL8139/810X Family Fast Ethernet NIC....whatever those are. I will check out DriverGuide and DriverFiles to see if they have them

OK, Well this is way too technical for me...I though you just downloaded the drivers and they went where they needed to go...since those are the only 2 drivers, i guess i will just use them as is...I dont understand how to install them.

well, wasnt as hard as I thought, had to use IE and go to the Windows Update website, it redirected me to the HP website, where HP detected what my computer was, what hardware it has on it, and any possible driver updates, then I just clicked on the "download and install" button, it downloaded whichever driver I chose. The only bad side is that whenever the driver is downloaded and installed, I have to restart to finish the installation, so since I had to install 3 drivers, that meant restarting the computer for 2 of them. Oh well, its done now, and i know how to do it from now on
