I got 1GB of ram from my wife for Christmas, and when I install it, I get this message "Drive 2 Not Found: Parallel, PATA-O" when trying to load windows. If I continue to load windows, it just reboots itself and starts again, its a loop.

What can I do to get my ram in and not get this message? Please help!

Thanks,
Kevin

Hi,

Take anti static precautions.

Then check that you have not disturbed the IDE cables inside your box. Gently remove the cables from motherboard and the back of the drives and replace.

Take great care as it can be very easy to bend a pin on a hard drive connector.

Next step would be to replace both IDE ribbon cables.

Then replace the BIOS battery

Hi,

Just a quick question. You aren't mixing memory or putting new memory of a different type or brand in with the old memory are you????

Also, are you sure the new memory is even compatible with your motherboard?
