Hello, I am new to this forum and I hope someone can help me.

A friend recently created a website for me. It has a great layout and it's what I wanted but the colours were all off. I noticed that she had created the site using really old methods which is ok but limited the colour options creating a multi coloured/pixelated imaging for navigation menu buttons.

I recreated what she had done over what she had done but with a cleaner look and uploaded it to my site host. Some of the changes didn't tranfer so I had half old half new. I corrected those and uploaded it. Now my site doesn't load at all. In dreamweaver when I sample the page it looks/works perfectly but the site won't load.

I don't know if I should post the code in here or not but the site is designed with frames and the code I see in dreamerweaver is slightly different than the code in View Source.

Anyways sorry for the long explanation but any insight would be great or if any more info is required.

Thanks

Alex

Hey, do you have a link to the site? and the code involved in one of the pages that doesn't load?

If you post them up we can try to help but this sounds like a code problem.

Cheers,
Jamey

Are you certain you did not change the name or directory of index.html ? index.html is the default "home page", if there is not a page by this name, then the server will show an error message.

The default directory is server/siteURL/index.html.

Try this if nothing else works for you, but having a peek at the site before doing this might be simpler. It could be as simple as a missing tag, so please don't do the steps below just yet... as we could very well fix the problem without doing the steps below.

1. Take the new site and make sure it all works fine on your computer.
2. Backup everything on the server that's on there now in a different folder on your computer.
3. Delete everything on the server that you backed up to your computer.
4. Copy the new site onto the server.
