I recently had to re-format my C: drive and re-install my OS.

I use Windows XP Pro.

My HDD is 200 gb partitioned (C: drive an 3 vertual drives).
My CPU is an AMD Athlon - 1.35 ghz.
My OS is Windows XP Pro version 2002 w/SP2 added.

I have a high speed, broadband internet connection and my downloads are acting like I have an 18.8 dial-up connection.

Hi auvi5, welcome to Tech Support Forum...

how do you connect to the internet.....via a router or an ADSL modem?

Also, please do a speed test which you can perform here....you will need the Java plugin installed to do it.

Post back the results please.

Also, it may be worthwhile calling your ISP to find out if there are any issues in your local area which may be causing the speed drop outs.

Speed test result doesn't look too bad but it all depends on how fast you're supposed to be getting...do you know the advertised speed of your service?

Also, what are the other issues please?

Other issues include slow to launch appliations, what was taking seconds to launch is taking minutes. This includes downloading web pages to desktop.

Long periods of what seems like nothing is happening after clicking a submit button.

Basicly it is running like the eMachine I bought back in 1997 (300 mhtz, 2 gb Hdd and 128 mb ram).

The attachment is a promo page from my ISP.
I hope it helps. :sigh:
