Are you attempting to dual boot Vista and XP?
For your information: I have just completed a dual boot on a Vista laptop.
I may be able to help you by providing some indicators - if this is the case . .

you have to gather the xp drivers together and install them and turn your caps off when posting

what brand and model laptop
