Dont Know whether its the hard drive or not.

Just the other day I was using my notebook and my antivirus popped up that I had a trojan, I cant remember the name but it looked pretty bad and I googled it and found that it said the easiest way to fix it would be to reinstall windows.I left it for the time being and since school is just starting back I haven't had much time. Today I came back to it and I cant get it to boot it jus stops at the black screen with the dash in the upper left hand corner.I tried from CD and hard drive.Neither of them will boot they both just stay at that screen.I was wondering if anyone could help me.

Welcome to TSF:

you could run Dban book & nuke on your drive / it will erase all !!!!! but I think any data you have on the drive isnt going to be saved anyway ????

Thanks, I'm pretty sure that Dban will work although I haven't got a chance to try it yet.

Ohhh I know it will work!!! / hope you had your data backed up to another drive or cd disks / there will be no info whatsoever after your done with DBAN ???? then you will just format your drive with Windows just like it were a new drive
