Does not shut down

Hello. I have an ASUS A7N8X E-deluxe motherboard running WinXP pro which is fully updated. It started to not shut down. It just hangs till I manually cut the power. I've even tried logging off first but it still hangs. Any ideas on where to start to figure out why it does this? thanks

Hi

This issue can result from a wide range of different causes - try going to Start>Run and type msconfig then select Diagnostic start-up and see if it that makes a difference.
