I know hard drives are one of the most sensitive things there are... because if they crash on you, you don't only loose the value of it, but you loose your time, and all of your stuff, etc...

So I'd like to get a reliable HD... are they pretty much all standard quality? Or should I go with highend, SeaGate, Western Digital, etc to be safe?

The only difference in these manfucaturers really is there integrity, customer support, warranty status and also their reliability, other than that they are all pretty equal - but they are not, because of the reasons above. on that note, i suggest either Seagate, Toshiba or Maxtor; all great drives.

Nick.
