I have a 465Gb external hard drive and use it only for media files and storage. Do I really need virtual memory on it?

I'm also looking for a program that just shows the amount of RAM I have in the tray icon bar thingy. I don't want none of that optimizer bs. :4-thatsba Does anyone know of one? If not, maybe someone can make one. =P

You can disable the virtual memory on the external drive. It should be set to use the fastest drive in your system, which will be one of your internal ones.

Free RAM XP (freeware) is a memory optimizer that sits in the system tray. You don't have to use any of its optimizing features, you can just have the icon in the tray showing the current RAM usage.

MemInfo (freeware) - "MemInfo is a small tool, that runs as an icon in the system tray and displays the current memory (RAM or Page File) usage in a mouseover hint."
