Hello

I have for the last few months been experiencing a problem with my IE5 running on Windows 2000. Certain websites do not load up properly. I have checked all my settings and I cannot find anything wrong, I have also checked on my 2nd pc and I can view those sites. I think that either some program I've loaded or some website has changed the dns settings on my pc.

Could anyone help with this ?

Actually, HOSTS.SAM is the sample file, it does nothing. The file to check is the HOSTS file, note there is no extension on it.

To try and help out, try going to your dos prompt, start-run-cmd

Then type in nslookup yahoo.com the result should be as follows

YOUR DNS SERVER

Non-authoritative answer:
Name: yahoo.com
Address: 66.218.71.198

just as an example, try it also with the site you are having troubles with, it may be as simple as your ISP has a bad set of DNSs, if that is the case you might wanna phone them up see if there are any alternate DNSs you can use.
