DMARC and Email quarantine

Hi All,

I'm working on better securing email for my client. Currently I'm looking at dmarc implimentation and email quarantine. Currently I have a dmarc policy in place to see what is passing and failing.

My question for now is, working with gmail here, in the quarantine all I see is "Default" quarantine. It doesn't appear that it is doing anything. Is this default just a "placeholder" value if you will as a place to start a quarantine? In the admin console, it says the quarantine is enabled for some users. However, I don't see anywhere that there is a quarantine process in place.

SPF and DKIM records were created at some time, however I don't see anywhere to show they have had any effect. From what I read dmarc has to be in place for either record to be used?

Ok sorry that's two questions. Thoughts appreciated.

Thanks,

Hi Corday,

Thanks for the input. I have been reading several articles about DMARC. Currently I have the policy set to "none" in hopes I would be able to at least see the result without impact for now. I know that the staff members aren't looking at their spam folder at all.

The other issue I have, is if I check email logs for certain emails, they are showing being received to the DL, however they are being held for moderation. Problem is I don't see anywhere in the tool to show the reason for the email being held for moderation. If I look at the quarantine setting, it says "Send default rejection message". It like they are held then deleted immediately.
