"Distorted video or no video issues"?

I think I've talked about this before, but my screen gets a pink stain on all the white parts displayed on the left side of the screen. I was wondering if this sounded like the issue with the NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT?

I think I'm going to take it in regardless, but I had a few questions with that.

1.) Should I take it in right now, or wait till closer to the end of my warranty? (Sept 5th, 2011)

2.) What should I do to prep for taking it in?
