Im not sure if this is a card problem or if it is just getting old, but my girlfriend is having proplems with her monitor. After a short while of use the monitor will just shut off. When you press the button to turn it back on nothing happens. Sometimes if I let is set for a bit it will come back on by itself but other times you have to manually shut off the computer and reboot. If I do that it works again, but then after a while it just does the turning off all over again. The computer is pretty old and I dont have the specs right now but I can try and get them if they are needed.

Has anyone ever heard of something like this before

[email protected], it almost sounds like a power saver setting has gotten turned on somewhere. I've got a video card that will blank the screen after a length of time with no mouse activity. This may be what you have.

Try putting a small fan just over the monitor blowing the cool air down into it for a while and see if it helps any...:D
