“Display driver stopped responding and has recovered” error

How do I fix this ???

The error message (“display driver stopped responding & has recovered”) follows a system freeze, a short blackout. Then everything works fine.

Does anyone know a fix.

Theres a lot of reason this might happen. A lot of people expirience this excactly problem with windows 7 .

You have to tell us more details . When ur pc freeze ? What are your pc's specifications .

In addition im sure there are many threads about this problem solved in here . You should have a look.

Have you tried updating your video card's drivers? Usually it's best to get the ones directly from the manufacturer.
Re: “Display driver stopped responding and has recovered” error

Does this happen a lot, or is it a once-off error? I had this once on my laptop and it was weird/scary, everything just locked up. But I haven't had it since. If it's once off, just forget it. If regular, update/roll back your drivers.

whats your graphic card ATI ? or NVIDIA ?
you can find the latest drivers or older ones in the official ATI or nVIDIA sites .

ati offficial site
ATI Radeon

nvidia official site
Welcome to NVIDIA - World Leader in Visual Computing Technologies

the second way is to check from the device manager in display adapters and then update drivers .
but its better to download from the official site

Re: “Display driver stopped responding and has recovered” error

Go to the dell support site enyer the serial number for your machine and you will get all the drivers for it Dell - Drivers and Downloads
Re: “Display driver stopped responding and has recovered” error

Actually, the Service Tag is what you need for the Dell site. It will take you directly to the drivers you need for your system.
