when i restart my PC "disk read error occured press ctrl+alt+del to restart" meesage is displayed.when i do ctrl+alt+del same message is showing.
can anyone help me plz becuase i have no data backup .
if hard disk is corrupted ,is there any alternative way to retrieve my data back?

i have moved you to h/d as i assume you are using 2000,other op.systems is usually linux ect.
run
chkdsk /r

if you can get to a working computer, check out the manufacturer's website of your motherboard and download the diagnostics utility. then bootup with it, follow the on-screen instructions, and then test your hdd for any errors.

another thing you can do is to change out the hdd cable.
