I'm here trying to find out what is wrong with my friends computer and I just don't understand it, haha.

It booting, checking for a CD, then says:

Disc error
Press any key to restart

I posted two pictures of the screen for you.

thanks.

What is the boot order in BIOS? Which CD do you have inserted?

Is the drive newly formatted or do you already have Windows installed?

Can you boot into safe mode?

What happens after you press a key to restart?

Joefireline I bet you were praying that I had a disc in the drive weren't you, haha.
I changed the boot order to hard drive first to see what would happen
No I don't have a disc inserted, it's been running with Windows for a couple of months now.
AH HAH!
I just put in another keyboard because nothing happened when I pressed the "any key".. (you'd be laughing now if you're a Simpsons fan)

when I press it I get "DISK BOOT FAILURE, INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND PRESS ENTER"

If you've made any hardware changes or moved the PC at all, check the IDE cable is firmly attached to the drive and motherboard.

Try setting the boot order to CD first, then reboot with the Windows CD inserted.
