Hello Jay, Welcome to TSF!

Is this a 'new' Hard Disc Drive or a 'new' CD/DVD Drive?
Could you please explain in detail what the actual problem is?
Please post back with this information.

Kind Regards,
It is the CD/DVD, it had problems reading the CD and now when i press eject it won't work
Welcome to TSF....

Since you say it will not read a CD-R disk and you just installed it and hopefully you still have the old drive handy, what you do is shut-dwn the computer and remove the new drive - just temporary and on the back side there is a spot that has jumpers for the drive select there should be markings for master, slave and drive select what you do is set this the same way the old drive is set up and then return it to the computer reboot and if you did it right it should work.

Here is a picture to give you an idea of what to look for hard drives and CD/DVD drives are very similar.:
