Disappearing computers in My Network Places

4491 Views 5 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  ComputerNoHow
Hi, I have a wireless network connection and when I go to My Network Places, I am able to see all my computers and such running on the network, but only for a split second, I can catch their names real click but before I have a chance to do anything, they disappear and I can't for the life of me figure it out. Why is this, has someone locked me out of my network or is there something special I need to do? I have no clue... Thanks either way.

I can do that for my computer, and maybe another one, but the other are my kids and are password protected. I try not to get into their business, mostly because my son knows a lot more about any of this stuff than me . I can give you my results for here, but what should I do about the other computers, should I force them to give me the passwords, or is there another way? Im so confused.
Sorry to double post, but it won't let me edit. I was wondering what the exact cause of the problem was as well if you knew it right off hand. Thanks.
Ok, I will try, one other thing, today when I check in the same place (My Network Places), it shows the computers on my network for some reason, they don't disappear, though I haven't changed anything. The problem appears to be solved, unless something like that happens again, which I hope it doesn't
