So it ment i had directx 10... anyways i was being a stupid idiot, and deleted directx off the registry, yes i know ... stupid... Well anyways, i dont have the same outcome as everyone, i run dxdiag and it still says i have directx10 installed.... te problem is, i cant play any games because it says i dont have the right direct x thing... and i've tried reinstalling it, it says i had an internal problem. can anyone tell me the keys i need to have in the registry under DirectX so i can install the last update, and get it aagain.. or a solution???

Please be sure to follow advice by pat mcgroin.

I would also throw in nthe System File Checker - SFC -
START | type cmd.exe into the start search box | right-click on cmd.exe | select run as Administrator | the black command prompt ("DOS") screen will appear | type the following:

Code:
[font=lucida console]sfc /scannow[/font]
Upon completion re-boot to allow files in use to be repaired.

SFC general info - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/936212

SFC & the CBS log - http://support.microsoft.com/kb/928228
