DirectX issue: old files

817 Views 1 Reply 2 Participants Last post by  justpassingby
I recently ran dxdiag and found out that I have several files (incl. ddraw.dll, d3d8.dll and some others) that are old versions and which can cause problems. I have noticed some issues with some games, and tried reinstalling directx 9.0c. It worked smoothly, but after the install I reran the dxdiag and still the same files were there; noted as old files.

I've been browsing around for similar issues but with no conclusive answers to this problem. I was hoping someone here would be able to tell me what to do, how to fix this. Must I download these .dll files seperately from somewhere? Some of the files could not be deleted or modified in any way so I doubt I can replace them, since they seem protected.

Help would be very much appreciated.
