I'm currently trying to replace the CPU fan on my intel pentium 4 processor
(socket 775)

I purchased this fan:

as a replacement for the original. However, the original uses screws to connect to the motherboard and the one i purchased uses plastic push-pins. The push pins seem either too large or like they're running into the metal that the screws go into. Am I only supposed to be using a replacement fan that also uses screws? Or is there something I need to do to the case to use this new fan?
