Hey guys, i'm in here on behalf of my mother in law who's got a nasty in her system. It's really slow and when she runs programs like disk clean up, her trend antivirus picks up this SPYN PPNETWORK.A x5
this is the location: c:\System Volume Information\-restore\{703B4DE9-C161-49EA-9FB3-419ADOAB\RP131\A005085.DLL

it come up 5 times and the last digits are slightly different, here are the rest:
RP129\A0051447.DLL
RP129\A0050658.DLL
RP134\A0051216.DLL
RP141\A0052238.DLL

Her Trend program says that it's isolated the problem but it's still really slow and it keeps popping up. Nothing else is happening as in 'illegal operations' etc. I've had a quick look and could find anything but then again i don't know XP very well. She has spydoctor (paid for not downloaded), trend and reg cleaner. The defrag works fine and doesn't take long. :4-dontkno

Sometimes there can be spyware TSRs (Terminate and Stay Resinant) which means that they sit in memory and never relinquish the allocated memory they are using. This is also known as a memory leak. If after running spyware utilities and antivirus software the system still runs slugginsh, its time to reinstall Windows.

so basically, other than doing a system restore there is nothing else i can do? i'll get her to take to a pro to be fixed if that's the case as i said i don't know much at all about xp.
