Hello,

I seem to be having a problem with my computer. I have a home built computer and my motherboard is a AMD Sempron 3000+ CPU motherboard combo w/AGP & PCI. I have had this computer for about 5 or so years.

Now I am receiving this error message and I don't know what is going on.

NVIDIA RAID IDE ROM BIOS 4.84
Copyright (C) 2004 NVIDIA Corp.
Detecting Array.

With his computer, there is only 1 hard drive, and when you look in BIOS, all the items dealing with ARRAY are turned off. The computer repair shop was unable to get the computer to duplicate the error.

I did see the previous responses, and I hope that someone can help me.

Thanks

Hi and welcome to tsf, can you tell us what mptherboard is in the pc? Remove the side pannel of the case and look for a name and model number of the board around the pci slots. If not use everest or cpuz to get the name of the motherboard, we also need the rest of the specs such as ra, video card, and brand and wattage of the psu. My first suspect would be the cmos battery. If the cmos battery saves all the info about the hardware and settings windows and other operating systems need to use the componets properly.

Hello,

My motherboard is MSI w/AMD Chip onboard, MB-SK-754-ASR-K8UNPNF, A-COM-K8UPNF-S3000. I think my video card is a NVIDIA G-force 6. The RA, do you mean RAM is 1/2 gig, and the wattage of psu is 450.

I had the computer at the repair shop and the tech checked the battery, it is ok, otherwise the clock on my computer wouldn't be up to date.

I had the tech replace my Lite-On CD burner/writer with a LG and because of other problems, the tech had to reload XP on my computer because files had gotten corrupted and were missing, and after that, this is when I received the Detecting Array message.

Thanks,

Tom
