Desperate for HELP!

Trojan.cachecachekit - Need help!

I have been attempting to remove Trojan.cachecachekit from my computer for days. I attempted to follow the symantec instructions ... unable to run scan in "safe mode". I am now unable to access symantec and microsoft websites. My email is not working. My windows firewall is off and I can't turn it back on. My internet security settings are no longer in default mode. On AIM messages with links are sent. I am at my wits end, please help! I have noticed a "hijack" scan by other people posting, how do I run that scan?

Did you turn off System Restore? Do you have a *working* subscription to download virus definitions from Symantec, or has it expired? Are you able to install another antivirus program on your system?
I will transfer you to the Hijack this Forum where the Experts can Help you.
Read the sticky notices and follow the instructions.

Yes, I turned off system restore and have a current subscription to Norton Internet Security 2005. I have not attempted to install another anti-virus but was able to download Ad Aware and Spybot. With Ad Aware I can run the scan but when I attempt to quarantine the critical items it gets locked and doesn't finish the job even though the program is running.

I apologize for the delay in response I am new at this and didn't know someone had responded.

Thanks for the transfer. I wasn't sure where I needed to post. Do you mean the sticky notes in the Hijack this Forum?
