Hi guys, i'm using a Dell inspiron 1420 and this is the problem that i've faced:

Ok, i've changed my LCD for my laptop which is cracked. and now the problem i faced is that, the brightness is still very dim even i max/min it out.. will reinstalling OS solve this problem? and by reinstalling it should i reformat at the same time? And also, i've found out that my BIOS doesn't support my new LCD but windows all are okay.. any possible ways that i can make my BIOS to support it? thanks.

1. Did the screen come complete with backlight tube and inverter, or screen alone?
2. Is this screen a direct replacement for your Dell?

Right click desktop Presonalize-Display Settings (set resolution to highest and bit to highest). Advanced Settings Monitor (screen refresh to highest supported)-Properties-driver-update driver.

Have a look at all the display settings see what you can tweak.
