I have a Dell Laptop Inspiron e1505. Windows XP. A few days ago the screen went blank. We found out it was a loose wire. We reconnected the wire and the screen comes back up. the problem is about 2" on the right hand side is blank. My guess is prior to fixing the loose wire we did something to the computer to cause this without having the screen to see what we were doing. I am stumped about what to do and thought I would throw this out there for someone who has more experience than myself. Any help would be appreciated.

Does the blank area show up even in BIOS setup screen? If so, I suggest you test/replace the video cable.

The blank area does show up in Bios setup. Not sure about the video cable but I will give it a try. Thanks.
