Hey guys my friend has a dell d600 with the built in intel wireless card. All of a sudden his computer no longer shows that there is a wireless interface in the computer and he needs this computer for work. I'm thinking the driver may need to be reinstalled but I'm not entirely sure if it's that or a hardware error that's causing this malfunction.... any and all help is appreciated.

Make sure the wireless network card isn't turned off by either a switch on the computer or a FN + F key combination. Check the user's manual if unsure.

See if the network card is visible in Device manager or has and flags on it. Download the driver from Dell's website and try reinstalling.

Have your friend look across the F keys for a little wireless tower icon (that's what it usually is). Probably F5 or F6. Each press of the 2 keys together toggles the wireless on and off.
