Installing a new Dell brand photo cartridge was not easily accomplished. The bracket was difficult to close. Once secured, however, the printer will not print. Instead of the usual message, error reads unknown color cartridge. Called Dell support number on package and was cut off.
Any suggestions on how to override this problem?


Realize that this is an older and cheaper printer, but has worked till now.

Doesn't take a genius to figure out you just got spammed Addi........

Check to be sure you have the correct cartridge for your printer, seems strange the bracket was difficult to close if it was the correct cartridge. Also take it our and carefully reinstall again, as the electronics need to line up between the cart. and the contacts inside the printer.
